03.07.2016 Old Testament: Deu 4.1
To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 3–4 on March 7, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Moses prepared the hearts of the children of Israel to hear a long discourse from him before he died, saying,
“Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you” (Deuteronomy 4.1).
Humanity sees the commands of God as restrictions, but God gives them that His people might live, Israel then, the church now.
Questions:
- What commands present the greatest challenge to you?
- Do you try to get over your resistance to that command, or do you just ignore it?
