03.10.2016 New Testament: Mark 13.11
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 13.1–13 on March 10, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
As the Lord warned the apostles of the impending doom on Jerusalem and the temple, He let them know that as they suffered persecution, that they would not suffer alone,
“But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit” (Mark 13.11).
It was not about the apostles. The Lord used them and He sent His Holy Spirit to them that they might experience inspiration. We also need to realize that the battle belongs to the Lord and that He will give us the support we need.
Questions:
- When you suffer, do you remember the Lord?
- Do you think it all depends upon you?
