03.13.2016 New Testament: Mark 14.39–40
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 14.26–50 on March 13, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Lord brought three of His disciples with Him to the Garden of Gethsemane, where He prayed before Judas betrayed Him and the Jews arrested Him. At the Garden, He separated from them and prayed, but when He returned to the three,
Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him (Mark 14.39–40).
He wanted them praying, but they did not realize the urgency of the need to pray, and so they fell asleep. However, if the Master says, Pray, you pray, whether you know of the urgency or not.
Questions:
- How often do you speak to the Lord?
- How often do you pray for others?
- How often do you ask others to pray for you?
