04.05.2016 New Testament: Luke 10.13–14
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 10.1–24 on April 5, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Lord destroyed Tyre and Sidon, for among their offenses, they had made their king equal to God, but the cities of Chorazin and Bethsaida rejected the true God when He walked among them, and Jesus said,
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you” (Luke 10.13–14).
As wicked as Tyre and Sidon had been, they would have repented, if Jesus had walked among them and done His miracles there that He did in Chorazin and Bethsaida! Wow!
Since they rejected Jesus, they would have an even more difficult time in the Judgment than former idolatrous cities.
Questions:
- Do we know fully just who walked this Earth in the first century?
- Do you give your all to follow Jesus, believing His words and obeying His commandments?
