What do you believe will make your life better, if you could just possess it, and what do you believe would make your life worse, if that thing was removed? Jesus taught,
“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Luke 12.15).
Your life is not about things, although the Lord does give us things, but He wants us to use them as servants and not as gods. Is your life better, if you have more things? Is your life better, if you have fewer things?
Questions:
- Did you earnestly desire an item and once you possessed it, found that it did not satisfy as you had thought that it would?
- How do we get the world to hear this statement of the Lord’s found in Luke 12.15?
