To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 17.1–19 on April 19, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

Ten lepers met Jesus and pleaded for mercy that He might heal them of their leprosy. He told them what to do, and they did it,

So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed (Luke 17.14).

They obeyed the Lord, the Lord healed them. However, only one of them returned to give God the glory. What did the other nine do?

When you have a serious illness, it consumes your life. Evidently, the nine still let their bodies, now made well, consume their thinking and they did not remember the Lord.

Questions:

  • Do you always remember the Lord?
  • How involved is the Lord in your life?
