04.20.2016 New Testament: Luke 17.37
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 17.20–37 on April 20, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Jesus foretold of those He will take when He returns and those whom He will leave behind. Upon hearing of those left, His disciples questioned Him,
And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together” (Luke 17.37).
Some translations have “vultures,” instead of “eagles.” The end of those who do not follow Jesus in this life does not look good at all.
Friends, I cannot overemphasize the need to follow Jesus as one of His disciples, learning from Him about life and how to live. If you live the life of a disciple, He shall take you at the appropriate time.
Questions:
- What are people doing that they think is so important they willingly cut themselves off from the Lord?
- What can you do to insure that you will continue to follow the Master Teacher?
