By Don Ruhl

Jesus spoke of a man who went to another country to receive a kingdom and then he would return. In the meantime, he gave his servants a mina, a unit of money, and wanted them to trade with it,

“Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities’” (Luke 19.16–19).

The first two did what he wanted and they did the best they could. These two increased their master’s holdings, and he blessed them mightily for it.
