04.24.2016 New Testament: Luke 19.45–46
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 19.29–48 on April 24, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Some of the Jews started using the temple to sell things, which angered the Lord and He did something about it,
Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves’” (Luke 19.45–46).
They changed the purpose of the temple from a place to pray to a place to make a profit. The house of the Lord was not for getting but for giving.
Questions:
- Are you a getter or a giver?
- Do you look for a blessing or do you look to bless?
giver; to bless and might I add to grace others with my presence. 🙂
Sometimes I feel like that is what some churches are doing, making a profit. I say that because there are still homeless and hungry people wandering the streets of the good old USA and elsewhere.
