05.21.2016 New Testament: John 8.15–16
To read the Bible in a year, read John 8.1–20 on May 21, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Jews charged Jesus with not giving true testimony of Himself, because they saw Him as the only witness and the Law said that every word was to be established by two or three witnesses, but then after declaring that His self-witness was true, Jesus said,
“You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me” (John 8.15–16).
They judged Him based on the flesh, whereas, He did not judge them, but when He did judge, He spoke the truth, because the Father stood with Him.
Questions:
- Have you thought about the fact that someday you will stand before Jesus as the Judge?
- Do you judge people constantly?
