Peter declared to the Jews boldly that they had crucified the Son of God, after proving to them that Jesus was the Son of God. It hit them hard,
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2.37).
It hit them hard, but they asked the right question. They knew of their desperate situation before the God of wrath. What could they possibly do to avoid the pouring of God’s justice upon them?
