To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 8.26–40 on June 28, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

The Spirit directed Philip to a road where he would find a man reading Scripture, and once there, Philip could help the man see the fulfillment of prophecy. After Philip baptized the man, the Spirit took Philip to another place. Then the Bible says,

But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea (Acts 8.40).

In Acts 8, the Bible shows Philip initially in Jerusalem, then Samaria, then to a road between Jerusalem and Gaza, and later at Azotus, and he kept preaching all the way, and he finally ended up at Caesarea.

Questions:

  • Who runs your life?
  • Does it seem as though others and circumstances run your life?
  • Is it possible that the Spirit has used those things to place you where He wants you for the present?
