Have you abandoned the ways of the world?

Job Bible Background

07.02.2016 Old Testament: Job 24.2–8

To read the Bible in a year, read Job 23–25 on July 2, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

Job’s friends accused him of having done some kind of horrible evil that moved God to punish him. However, Job denied that he had done something to bring on his horrendous suffering. He spoke of how the world operates,

“Some remove landmarks;
They seize flocks violently and feed on them…”
(Job 24.2–8)

His friends knew that he did not operate in such a manner. They knew him to help people, not to take from them.

Questions:

  • Can you state the way you live and your friends agree with you?
  • How do you treat other people?
