07.03.2016 Old Testament: Job 27.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Job 26–28 on July 3, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Job suffered more than I could ever imagine seeing myself suffer. With great agony of spirit, he poured out the torments of his soul, and for that, his friends rebuked him and accused him of secret sin. However, he replied,
“I will teach you about the hand of God;
What is with the Almighty I will not conceal.
Surely all of you have seen it;
Why then do you behave with complete nonsense?”
(Job 27.11–12)
Job believed that a proper understanding of God leads to the right behavior. Since he knew that his friends had knowledge of God, he did not understand why they behaved in the manner that they did.
Questions:
- Do you want to change your behavior? Increase your knowledge of God.
- How or why does the right knowledge of God lead to the right behavior?
