07.21.2016 – Old Testament: Psa 34.17–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 34–35 on July 21, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
When you read the life of David, you will find that the words of Psalm 34 fit his life perfectly, and Psalm 34 shows the Lord at work in David’s life,
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
(Psalm 34.17–18)
The Lord listens, ready to help the righteous when they cry to Him, because He is near to those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Have you been in trouble? Did you cry out to the Lord? If you want Him to help you during that time, you have to be righteous and be broken up over your own sins.
Questions:
- What do you do when trouble strikes?
- If the Lord helped you, what did you do in return?
