07.22.2016 – New Testament: Acts 23.11
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 23.1–11 on July 22, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Paul wanted to preach the good news of Jesus Christ, and Jesus would open doors for Paul to do so. While the apostle waited as a prisoner, the Lord appeared to Him with this message,
But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome” (Acts 23.11).
Just what Paul wanted to do! He looked for every opportunity to speak of Jesus. Paul did not avoid large cities, as we tend to do, but he went wherever he could speak to people and primarily through his efforts he changed the Roman Empire.
Questions:
- What do you think of “Big Cities”?
- Can you try to have a new vision of them as places presenting endless opportunities?
