If you want the desires of your heart fulfilled, assuming that they are righteous desires, the Scriptures reveal how to live,

Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
(Psalm 37.3–4) 

The psalmist revealed five simple things to insure that you receive the desires of your heart:

1. Trust in the Lord
2. Do good
3. Dwell in the land
4. Feed on His faithfulness
5. Delight yourself in the Lord

Those are the things He wants from us, because truly He has entrusted us with the Earth and the Gospel, He has done good to us, He put us on the Earth, He makes promises to us and we can count on them, and He delights in us. Why can He not ask us for the same in return?
