07.23.2016 – New Testament: Acts 23.12–13
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 23.12–35 on July 23, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Paul spoke of the good things that the God of heaven gives to all people through the Lord Jesus Christ, but some people did not like the sounds of that, for they wanted to believe that the good things of God only belong to their tribe. Watch then the hatred of some Jews for their fellow-Jew, Paul,
And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy (Acts 23.12–13).
Okay, so they disagreed with his preaching. But then they want to kill him for it! Unbelievable! Yet, some people cannot handle anyone disagreeing with them.
Questions:
- Can you handle people disagreeing with you?
Yes, if only they would respond. I realized that I am in a church with people who are afraid to respond, but talk behind your back. Sad to say that I discern this is because of their leaders teachings. When did people stop responding to inquiries, or stop saying thank you? Oh poof! What happens when you follow leaders?
