07.28.2016 – Old Testament: Psa 55.1–3
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 53–55 on July 28, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
David had his enemies, and it seems they were often after him, but he always took the matter to the Lord, and the Lord always delivered him. Once David prayed in this manner,
Give ear to my prayer, O God,
And do not hide Yourself from my supplication.
Attend to me, and hear me;
I am restless in my complaint, and moan noisily,
Because of the voice of the enemy,
Because of the oppression of the wicked;
For they bring down trouble upon me,
And in wrath they hate me.
(Psalm 55.1–3)
Even if you do not have a situation like that, the church does. Therefore either pray for yourself, or pray for the church and her preachers, because as Western Culture continues its moral decline and its rejection of Christianity, the church and her preachers will suffer for it.
