Many are the ways that we can proclaim the death of Jesus, and why He died, and what His death means for us. Paul described one way,

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes (1 Corinthians 11.26).

Every Lord’s Day, you can announce the death of Jesus by taking the Lord’s Supper, eating the unleavened bread and drinking the fruit of the vine. The only other historical event that even matches what Jesus did on the cross was His resurrection.

How then can any Christian miss the Lord’s Supper, unless the circumstances keep him from observing it? Please make a commitment today to be present every Lord’s Day to eat that Supper with the Lord.

Questions:

  • If you miss services regularly, or easily, for what reasons do you miss?
  • Do you think those reasons are more important than eating the Lord’s Supper?
