10.13.2016 – Old Testament: Isa 51.4
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 50–52 on October 13, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Who are we? We are the people of the Lord. Should we not then listen to whatever He has to say? He told ancient Israel once,
“Listen to Me, My people;
And give ear to Me, O My nation:
For law will proceed from Me,
And I will make My justice rest
As a light of the peoples.”
(Isaiah 51.4)
We should listen to the Lord because we are His people, and whatever He says to us benefits us. He does not speak with the desire to hurt us, but to make us better than we have ever been before.
He will give us the law we need, and His justice will be our light. These are the very things we need, and our society needs them desperately also.
Questions:
- Do you make a point of listening to the Lord everyday by listening to the Scriptures?
- How has listening to Scripture blessed you?
