The Lord sent prophets to His people because they stumbled in their walk, not because they did not see the block over which they stumbled, but they placed it there themselves. However, once they would repent, the Lord had Isaiah write,

And one shall say,
“Heap it up! Heap it up!
Prepare the way,
Take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.”
(Isaiah 57.14) 

Sometimes after we have repented, the stumbling-block, which we placed before ourselves, remains. Seeing our effort to change, the Lord orders the removal of the stumbling-block, and we should praise Him for doing it.
