10.16.2016 – New Testament: 1Th 4.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 4 on October 16, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Yes, a Christian must love and grow in love without ceasing. What other details should we pay attention to as Christians? After urging the Thessalonian Christians to grow more and more in love, Paul wrote,
…that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing (1 Thessalonians 4.11–12).
We have to think of how others, especially those outside of Christ, view our behavior, because we want to influence them to embrace the life of Christ, and He took care of Himself. Likewise, let us be responsible for ourselves.
Questions:
- Do you turn others off unnecessarily?
- How do you think we should live?
