The Lord blessed Timothy with a gift that came through the laying on of the hands of the eldership,

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership (1 Timothy 4.14). 

We may not have received our abilities and gifts from the Lord the same way that Timothy did, but the Lord has blessed every single one of us in some fashion through some means, even if it was simply through birth.

That being the case, we must not neglect to use what He has given us to use.
