11.01.2016 – New Testament: Tts 2.2
To read the Bible in a year, read Titus 2 on November 1, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Preachers have an obligation to help a congregation of the Lord’s people to be what the Lord wants them to be, and what their families and communities need them to be. Thus, Paul told Titus that he should speak the things that are proper for sound doctrine, which would include teaching this to the older men,
…that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience (Titus 2.2).
Older men, are you sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, and in patience? If not, why not? Read the Scriptures to discover the healthy teaching they impart to you, and you will become the kind of man that makes you a pleasant man, a disciple of Christ.
Questions:
- Do you fall short in any of the qualities that Paul listed?
- What can you do to improve yourself?
