11.07.2016 – Old Testament: Jer 46.38
To read the Bible in a year, read Jeremiah 46–48 on November 7, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
At the time of the writing of the Book of Jeremiah, Israel’s enemies had dominion over them and they oppressed them as well. However, the Lord let them to know that the situation would not exist forever,
“Do not fear, O Jacob My servant,” says the LORD,
“For I am with you;
For I will make a complete end of all the nations
To which I have driven you,
But I will not make a complete end of you.
I will rightly correct you,
For I will not leave you wholly unpunished.”
(Jeremiah 46.28)
Where are the nations that had taken Israel and Judah captive? All those nations have vanished from the Earth, but Israel continued, because the Lord used Israel to bring the promised blessing of Abraham to the world, and the Lord fulfilled it through Jesus Christ our Lord.
