12.26.2016 – Old Testament: Zec 2.6–7
To read the Bible in a year, read Zechariah 1–3 on December 26, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Lord used Babylon to punish Judah, but Babylon also needed punishment, and when that time arrived, He did not want any of His people within her borders,
“Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,” says the LORD; “for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven,” says the LORD. “Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon” (Zechariah 2.6–7).
The Lord had already determined and promised to use Israel to deliver a most wonderful gift to the world, and so He could not let Israel go by the wayside.
Questions:
- Has the Lord punished someone whom He used to correct you?
- Do you know that the Lord loves you?
