12.27.2016 – Old Testament: Zec 6.1–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Zechariah 4–6 on December 27, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Do you understand everything that the Bible says? If not, you are not alone, but sometimes even the writers of Scripture did not know the meaning of what they wrote, as in the case of Zechariah,
Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze. With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot dappled horses—strong steeds.
Do you know or understand what all that is about? You know something, Zechariah did not know either; so read what the next sentence says,
Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” (Zechariah 6.1–4)
Do the same. Ask God in prayer what something means. Then ask people who know the Scriptures, what it means.
Questions:
- Are you afraid to ask for help in understanding Scripture?
- How do you learn?
