01.28.2017 – Old Testament: Exo 16.17–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 16–18 on January 28, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Man has the tendency to forget that there is a God in Heaven who made us and provides for us. He created a planet that supports billions of people just in this generation alone, but we forget that and think we will not make it. However, look at Israel going through a wilderness, where they neither hunted nor farmed, but they had all their needs met, as Moses wrote,
Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less. So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one’s need (Exodus 16.17–18).
How have you managed to survive up to this moment? There is a God in Heaven who has been supplying your needs.
Questions:
- Did you worry whether you will had what you needed, but found out later that the Lord provided?
- Why are we slow to trust the Lord to provide what we need?
