Outward beauty is fine, unless the inward nature is the opposite. What good is outward beauty, if the inward nature is rotten? Jesus said to the scribes and Pharisees,
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also” (Matthew 23.25–26).
Therefore, concentrate upon the inside and that will fix the outside. The true person does not start from the outside and move to the inward, but we start with the inward and move to the outward.
Questions:
- What you do emphasize in your life?
- Do you classify that as an outward thing or an inward thing?
