02.17.2017 – New Testament: Mark 1.40
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 1.23–45 on February 17, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
You might think that a leper had enough of a humble life that he should not have to humble himself more, but it is also possible that even in his life of humiliation he is proud and arrogant. Therefore, even the leper and anyone else in a lower level life, still has to humble himself before the Lord,
Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean” (Mark 1.40).
This leper wanted desperately to be clean of his leprosy, but he also recognized the greatness of Jesus and His power to heal. Therefore, the humbled man, humbled himself further and received from the Lord what he wanted.
Questions:
- Do you humble yourself before the Lord?
- Do you humble yourself before people?
