02.22.2017 – Old Testament: Num 7.2
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 7 on February 22, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Moses anointed and consecrated the tabernacle after Israel finished making it. He also anointed and consecrated all the furnishings and utensils associated with the tabernacle. The leaders of Israel also joined in devoting the tabernacle in service to the Lord,
Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers’ houses, who were the leaders of the tribes and over those who were numbered, made an offering (Numbers 7.2).
This had to have been a very special time for the children of Israel, who had short time before served the Egyptians in bondage. Now Israel had its own special place for making offerings to the God of heaven.
Questions:
- Do you see the modern assembly of the saints as a holy tabernacle?
- What do you think of making offerings to the Lord, though not of animals and such, but of your time, money, and effort?
