03.07.2017 – Old Testament: Deu 4.2
To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 3–4 on March 7, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
If there is a God in heaven, and if He has given us the Bible, why do we think we either need to add to it or take some of it away? Did He not do a good job in creating the heavens and the Earth? Do we think we can improve on creation? If not, why do we think we can improve on His word? He had to tell Israel,
“You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you” (Deuteronomy 4.2).
Yet, look at history and you will see one group and one generation after another, seeking to improve the word of God, and you will also see that every effort has failed!
Questions:
- Are you fine with the way the Holy Spirit delivered Scripture?
- Do you want people changing your words?
