05.23.2017 – New Testament: John 8.50
To read the Bible in a year, read John 8.37–59 on May 23, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The life of Jesus was all about the Father. Jesus sought the Father’s glory, and never praised Himself,
“And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges” (John 8.50).
If Jesus judged, He did it because the Father wanted Jesus to judge. If Jesus did not judge, He did not judge because the Father did not want Him to judge. Jesus had no intention of promoting His own agenda, unless you say that His agenda was the Father’s agenda.
Questions:
- Whose glory do you seek?
- Why do you do what you do?
