How can we know whether Jesus came from God, or just operated on His own authority? Consider the case found in John 9. Jesus healed a man born blind. The Pharisees questioned the man,
Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.” Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them (John 9.15–16).
Could a man without divine powers put clay on a man’s eyes and heal him of blindness? Only He who formed the ability to see could do such a thing.
Truly, as other people were asking, How can a man who is a sinner do such signs? Just look at the works of Jesus, if you cannot believe His words, and find out from where He came.
Questions:
- Do you believe Jesus came from God?
- What evidence persuaded you that He came from God?
