The city of David, part of Jerusalem, has been around a long time, but it became famous primarily because of what David did there, hence the name,

David built houses for himself in the City of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for it (1 Chronicles 15.1). 

The great warrior poet, conquered the city, set up homes for himself, and greatest of all he made a place for the Ark of God in a tent in that wonderful city. David was all about God, and for that we know of him today. Should our lives be less than that?
