Men did not like what Jesus said and they tried to capture Him,

Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand (John 10.39). 

He would let them seize Him when He was ready. He and the Father had the death of Jesus planned before the foundation of the world, and no puny men could thwart that plan. Jesus died when the time was right.
