06.13.2017 New Testament: John 20.17
To read the Bible in a year, read John 20 on June 13, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
When Mary Magdalene saw Jesus after His resurrection, she embraced Him, but He told her it was not the time,
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God’” (John 20.17).
He would have to leave her again, and so she could not continue to cling to Him, but Jesus did have a job for her: Go to the apostles with a message that His Father and His God was now their Father and their God.
