To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 12 on July 4, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
An angel released Peter from prison. He then went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where some of the church had gathered to pray, I assume for Peter. He knocked on the door, and watch what happened,
So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying. And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate (Acts 12.12–14).
This is funny. She got so excited, she forgot about letting him in and ran to tell the others that he was at the door. She no doubt loved Peter and was distressed that he was in prison, believing that he might die, just as James had earlier.

- Are you glad to see your brothers and sisters in Christ?
- Are they glad to see you?
