For a brief time at the beginning of the church, the Lord gave various people the ability to perform miracles. However, that was during the infancy of the church, and now the church has reached adulthood, and the things of childhood are no longer needed. Paul made this point in First Corinthians 13,

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things (1 Corinthians 13.11). 

Some people still want to see miracles, but they do not realize that they seek the childlike things of the spirit. The church now has the full revelation of the word of God, and by it we learn the whole truth that He wants us to know.
