10.07.2017 – New Testament: Phi 3.20
To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 3 on October 7, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
We all live in some country on this earth, yet, the Bible calls Christians sojourners and pilgrims as though their home is elsewhere. Paul reminded the Philippian church,
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ… (Philippians 3.20).
Is that not why we became followers of Jesus Christ? We want to go to heaven when we die, and year after year this old earth seems less and less like our home. The older we get the more we come to see what Paul meant, that our citizenship is truly in heaven and we look forward to going home for the first time.
Questions:
- Is your citizenship in heaven?
- Where are you laying up treasure?
