A coppersmith did much to harm Paul and amazingly, no other Christians came to Paul’s defense. However, listen to his attitude toward those Christians,
At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them (2 Timothy 4.16).
Fear evidently filled their hearts, yet, Paul did not become bitter against them, but only wished that their failure to stand with him would not be held against them. Lord, may I have that same attitude!
