Do you believe in the name of the Son of God? If so, have you thought of what that means for you? John will tell us exactly what it means for us,

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God (1 John 5.13). 

If you believe in Jesus, you can know that you have eternal life. However, you must continue to read First John and the rest of the Bible, that you may continue to believe in Jesus so that you may continue to have eternal life.
