I have never understood why the Pharisees opposed Jesus. Yes, we could have an academic discussion about it, but they witnessed Him performing miracles! Yet, look how they reacted to this one,
Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other. Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him (Matthew 12.13–14).
He makes a man better, but they try to find a way to hurt Jesus! Would it not be a good idea to have Him heal some more people? Why kill a man like Him? Also, should they not have realized that if He wanted to, He could have thwarted their plan with a miracle and even harmed them? However, those filled with rage have thrown out reason.
Questions:
- Do you fight against people who do good things?
- Have you been criticized for doing good?
- If so, what did you do in response?
