02.17.2018 – Old Testament: Lev 25.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 24–25 on February 17, In the year of our Lord 2018

Every fifty years Israel had a Jubilee celebration and it was the time to cease from planting crops. The Lord explained,
“That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine. For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field” (Leviticus 25.11–12).
The Lord would provide food for them from the previous years. He certainly wanted them to work, but He also wanted them to celebrate, for there is a time to work and a time to celebrate.
