As John the Baptist spoke of Jesus, he made it clear about what brings life and what brings wrath,

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3.36).

It is all about Jesus. You either believe in Him or you do not. That simple decision leads to life or to the wrath of God. God wants to give us everlasting life, but He does not force it upon us, wanting us to make the decision.
