06.10.2018 – New Testament: John 18.37
To read the Bible in a year, read John 18.24–40 on June 10, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
The Jews told Pilate that Jesus claimed to be a king. Pilate questioned Him about it. Jesus explained that His kingdom was not of this world. Hearing that, Pilate asked, “Are You a king then?” To which Jesus said,
“You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18.37).
We know that Jesus came to die, but He also came into the world to bear witness to the truth and to be the king!
Questions:
- Is the church a democracy or a monarchy?
- How long shall Jesus reign as king?
