07.26.2018 – Old Testament: Psa 49.1–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 47–49 on July 26, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
Who are you? Where do you live? Are you rich or poor? Whoever you are, wherever you live, and whatever you have or do not have, listen to the Book of Psalms,
Hear this, all peoples;
Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,
Both low and high,
Rich and poor together.
My mouth shall speak wisdom,
And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding.
I will incline my ear to a proverb;
I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.
(Psalm 49.1–4)
First, hear what Psalm 49 says, for it says something that we all need to hear concerning the rich. Truly we should listen to all the Psalms, because they all say something that people in every nation must hear.
Questions:
- When was the last time you read the Book of Psalms?
- Were the Psalms only for Israel?
