In the church, people care for your wellbeing even more than the people of the world. See the care that a preacher and a congregation had for one another:
Yet I considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, but your messenger and the one who ministered to my need; since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick (Philippians 2.25–26).
Epaphroditus was the regular preacher at Philippi. However, he did travel with Paul some, but while gone on one occasion, Epaphroditus became ill and when his home congregation heard of it, they were distressed about it, and that in turn made him long to go home to the people he loved and to show them that he had recovered.
Questions:
- Have you found love in the church, in your home congregation?
- Do you show love for the members there?
