Timothy had to watch his influence and think about what he was doing at all times. Therefore, Paul said to him:

Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure (1 Timothy 5.22).

He needed to remember these things as both a church leader and as a Christian. People watch us and they draw conclusions about what we believe in by the way that we live.

Questions:

• Are you aware that people are watching you live out your faith?
• Do you think that you influence others?
